I would have to agree generally with the reviews by Albert Chen, Jennifer Hornung and Beautiful Bunny Debs. This album by Julio Iglesias, Jr., is very nice work. His voice is more gentle than that of his brother Enrique (both are terrific singers according to their own genres), he doesn't really "belt" the tunes but sings them gently with a voice that is comforting and pleasing. I cannot understand the business side of entertainment, as this album deserved and deserves to be promoted. There are a few mean-spirited attacks, not objective, against this young man and his work, appearing here on amazon. As the "reviewer" makes personal jabs "advising" the artist not to spend the family fortune too quickly on South Beach (the nerve!), it is evident from such all-too-personal remarks that this reviewer has a personal dislike of the artist and is revealing it in personal attacks thinly-dressed-up as "reviews." Don't be fooled. This artist *is* talented, I can personally attest to that.

I have watched him train and work as an actor in a class setting. Anyone who asserts that this young man has "no talent," is making an ass out of himself. He's not only a good singer, he has a very good range as an actor as well. He could easily be a successful star of both stage and screen. By all means, get UNDER MY EYES.

Bought this cd on impulse and I'm glad I did. I find his music to be very mature and in a class of his own. Better than Enrique in my opinion.

This is probably one of my favorite cds of all time. Julio has a hypnotic, very sexy, husky voice that you want to listen and hold onto every word. I have played this CD to death and now need to order another. Whatever emotions one may be feeling this is one CD to suit all (personally I think it would appeal more to the ladies out there), having said that, my ex, loved listening to it... reminded him of me... not sure which he was referring too!!

This should have hit the big time. No promotions, how can anyone know it was out there! Ok, so its 2006, a few years since its been around, but I love it now more than I did then.

If there was one guy in this world I would love to meet, it would definitely be Julio Jr. I would love to be a Prisoner of His Heart!

I am very surprised Sony cancelled. Julio, you should definitely give it one more chance. It is so well known how many mistakes these record companies make. After all, what do they know!

You certainly get me into the Groove.

Where are you??

I love this album so much. His comforting voice melts right into easy rhythms. Compared to his brother, his music feels less intense, less Latino, but more tender, more dulcified. I highly recommend this!

First there was Julio, Sr., then there was Enrique, now Julio Iglesias, Jr., has entered the market already dominated by his all too famous father and sibling, with hopes of conquering the airwaves with his vision of what music should sound.
While unknown to many residing in the USA and Canada, "Under My Eyes" was supposedly the album that would introduce English-language audiences to the sounds and singing of Julio Iglesias, Jr. Julio, Jr., whose brother Enrique has made a noticeable entry into the U.S. market with such hits as "Bailamos," apparently thought he could do the same. Little did he know that he couldn't. Months before it's initial debut into the North American market, Epic Records (a division of Sony) pulled the plug on the album and canceled Julio's recording contract without giving him a chance. Making news in many of the industry's leading periodicals such as Billboard and the New York Post didn't help the little publicity Julio and this album had, that its' existence was almost unknown until it was released overseas (which is now available on Amazon[.com] as an import).
Now for the first time, American and Canadian audiences can firsthand hear the reason why this album was shelved and never release. Besides a lack of talent, the album's songs all but remind audiences of the syrupy sweet ballads listeners do not want to listen at a time when boy bands have cornered that genre. Unlike his brother, Julio's biggest mistake was not introducing himself to Spanish-speaking audiences first. Maybe then, would he had a possible shot for a smooth entry just like Shakira, Paulina Rubio, and Enrique Iglesias have had.
As for this album's songs, you can read two of my reviews for the first two singles from this album on Amazon[.com]. As for the rest, I won't bother the reader with my comments on how bad this album is, but all I can say is that Julio, Jr. should not spend the family fortune all too quickly in Sobe with the belief that he'll become a star. "Under My Eyes" was swept under a rug for a reason, and unless one is into campy-esque love ballads that can be performed with a karaoke machine, than this is not the album for a listener who values and appreciates quality music.

I don't wanna say much about this cd...I just crap, Jj try to sing but all i can hear is Jj whisperin,i can't comment about lyrics, to be honest i don't care."One More Chance" is a catchy song, or a trap should I say? cause could be the only to listen. The 2nd single "Nothing Else" the title speaks for itself, Here's is "Nothing" else to say...C'mon Jj, Maybe u can sucess as a model,as a hunk, as wathever, but never dare you to try this again.

Don't buy this album unless you're collecting everything by the Iglesiases. I listened to samples from the MP3 list of Julio Iglesias Jr, and liked what I heard, so bought this album before trying Por La Mitad. His voice sounds different from the other samples on the list in that it is very dry and he seems to be singing in a hoarse whisper. At times it almost made me cringe because he didn't quite hit the note.

The album is a selection of average, forgettable pop songs with a predictable backing which sometimes drowns the singing. There's no passion and all the songs are vaguely similar, there's nothing catchy.

I really wanted this album to be better than it is. It's OK for background music, but for me, it's a disappointment.
