tldr this lowered my SSD peak temps by 15C for only ~$10, completely worth it.
So I built myself a NAS and used a Samsung 980 Pro as my cache drive. The drive itself came with no heatsink and neither did the motherboard. Under peak load, the hot spot on the drive was hitting 75C and at idle never dropped below 50C. While this is still not near overheating, these temps were warmer than I wanted so I looked for a heatsink I could add to lower temps. Thermalright never fails to deliver with their offerings and this heatsink kept my peak temps under 60C and dropped my idle to around 40C. You can see this in the temp logs I included in this review. Installation was easy and painless and I had no clearance issues at all with how compact this cooler is with my mini-ITX build. Not only is it performant, it also looks good paired with the full copper Thermalright AXP90-X47 in the background.

A Great Value!
Installation was a Breeze on my X570 Motherboard. The quality of this unit is impressive, as for cooling without load runs at 29C. I have a basic secondary storage drive on it WD SN850 1TB, basic but still fast enough at over 4K speeds.. Thermalright is a Pro at this and CPU Cooling so I am not surprised at the quality and innovative design for this passive single heatpipe setup. Looks and Works Greats a wonderful combo these days for cheap money!

These heatsinks really work well. I like using the Kingston Fury Renegade drives in builds but that top m.2 does not get much air with an AIO pump blocking air and the heat rising from the GPU. Even the models with the factory heatsink would thermal throttle under NVME benchmarks. Well, now with this heatsink the temps are usually at least 20c cooler.
4 star on the install because on some motherboards it can have clearance issues with rear IO beauty covers. You have to be very careful where you place it on the NVME drive for that reason on some motherboards. Some m.2 on motherboards have a metal surface to cool the backside of the NVME drive, that can cause clearance issue with double sided NVME but what I do is I replace the thermal pad with a thinner one that comes on this cooler to allow it to fit.

The product looks just as the pictures in the posting look, which to me looks well. The only small note for anyone wishing to purchase this is that while I personally didn’t struggle with lining up the bottom and top shell, it may be difficult for some as there aren’t any guide marks, but a problem that affected me is that installing the SSD plus the heatsink onto a vertically standing motherboard is incredibly difficult in cramped spaces. I had to remove the GPU in order to fit my already small hands into the right position, not only that but it was heavy to the point where I was worried of it being unsupported while being installed. Besides that though it was only slightly difficult to tell if the SSD was installed fully. While these may seem like major problems, it is more so me cherrypicking the problems I came across. Temperature differences match the heatsink that is on my other SSD and while under extensive use it actually performed slightly better. Overall very great, but if you can install it onto a system that is already laying down, so the weight works in your favor rather than against you like it did for me, the be sure to do that (or maybe I am just not very smart).
