Product Description

Bronze the Thinker Statue Reproduction:
Rodin's The Thinker (1879-1889) has become synonymous with deep intellectual contemplation. It is meant to be a portrait of the great writer Dante as part of a series of sculptures related to Dante's Divine Comedy. The statue echoes the French philosopher Rene Descartes' famous quote, "I think therefore I am", although it is not directly related.

In 1880 French sculptor Auguste Rodin received the commission for the Gates of Hell, a decorative door for the future Museum of Decorative Arts (Musee des Beaux Arts), to be decorated with low reliefs inspired by The Divine Comedy of Dante. Although the Gates of Hell was never completed, some of Rodin's most famous sculptures and memorable pieces were originally done for it including The Thinker, Adam, Eve, and The Kiss. He sculpted them in several sizes and exhibited them extensively.

Craftsmanship:
During the production of our bronze sculptures, we value a high level of quality and trust in traditional ways of production. Constant quality controls guarantee the high quality of our bronze sculptures and figurines that are produced via the lost wax technique.
