The aptly named Red-capped Robin occurs widely in woodland and scrubland in dry and arid regions of inland Australia. Here doing its characteristic 'telephone dial' call, which is a great way to find this bird from a distance. Towards the end of the video an Eastern Yellow robin can be heard ( single note peep peep peep....)
May enter more humid areas in times of drought, such as Canberra, which is just to the east of its main range. Here in scrub just to the west of a new suburb (with construction noises in the background).
