The White-throated Treecreeper is common in forests and woodland of the coast and ranges of eastern and south eastern Australia. Isolated populations are found in coastal north Queensland and in ranges north of Adealide, SA. The bird shown here is a female, which has a small rufous spot below the ear-coverts, which is absent in the male. The Climacteridae are an ancient Australian passerine group, unrelated to the functionally similar Treecreepers (Cethiidae) of Eurasia, see vimeo.com/228519057
