A pair of Major Mitchell cockatoos visited our campsite, often shy, these birds were curious. Thinly distributed across inland Australia these birds were of the western subspecies (ssp. mollis) - as seen by the solid red in the birds crest. One of the pair is seen demolishing a termite nest in a branch of a tree, the other bird watches.
The eastern subspecies can be seen at: vimeo.com/136802565 and vimeo.com/118380156
