What it looks like: It is a small pyramid-shaped tree with branches covered in blue-green needle shaped leaves.
History: The Japanese dwarf pine is native to Japan and Korea.
How to eat it: The needles can be used to make pine needle tea. The pine cones can be left to dry out and the nuts picked out and eaten. 
More information: The pine needles are high in Vitamin C. The needles on young trees grow longer than the needles on older trees.
