World of Warcraft players first played Warcraft the RTS. As well as another game by Blizzard titled Starcraft also an RTS. Both games were extremely popular and garnered a wide fan base.
Then came World of Warcraft the MMORPG. Warcraft fans flocked to play Blizzard’s new game. And made Wow a sensational hit. But after close to 20 years of waiting there has
been no World of Starcraft MMORPG ? Blizzard has 19+ years of running Wow and has
the experience to publish a new Starcraft mmorpg. Why hasn’t Blizzard done this?
The Fan base is out there. Will Blizzard ever create a World of Starcraft mmorpg?

I think it’s unlikely.
Moreso they’re likely to make SC III.
If WoW didn’t come about I’m sure we’d have seen WC 4 and so on.

They have pretty much abandoned Starcraft unfortunately. Maintenace mode more, or less. Glad they remastered Starcraft, and the Brood War expansion at least. Command & Conquer Red Alert, and Starcraft were the first games I played on a pc. Great memories.

Starcraft was always about the main characters, never about Joe Schmoe from Chau Sara.

Starcraft Ghost was probably their only attempt to make a non-RTS Starcraft game.
It didn’t go well or maybe it went too well to the point the entire project ghosted.
To be fair so was warcraft… But I don’t wanna starcraft mmo

From the screenshots and gameplay trailer it looked like they were making it a first-person stealth shooter. It looks nice, but given that trailers are made to usually show off the “good” parts of the game, behind the scenes it was probably a nightmare or maybe seeing that it would be released with to strong of a competitor that the game was canceled.
Though during their heyday when Blizz created other games like Overwatch and HoTs that became hits in their genre, Ghost possibly could have also been a success if Blizz had decided to release it during that time.

Wouldn’t mind seeing a Starcraft 3. Could you imagine them trying to balance zerg, and Protoss classes lol. Would hate to see them butcher what’s left of the Starcraft universe by trying to turn it into an mmorpg tbh. Was a sad day when the RTS genre started dying off. Still play the Starcraft games occasionally. Campaign mode mostly. To this day still haven’t beat the final mission in Brood war lol. Without power overwhelming that is 
I guess after the Kerrigan redemption story they just said game over for the Starcraft ip. They left out the UED completely in Starcraft 2 which was sad imo.

I think this is the Terran who gets caught by the Arbiter-cloaked Protoss force in the middle of the road.

I would like to at least see a SC3 with a time jump and new characters or something. I’d also like a WC4 though, and fat chance that’ll ever happen.
SC1 followed the story of SCII perfectly. And all the main characters had their stories from SC1 end in SCII some died, others went away forever. Then the Mission Packs took up the rest of the Terrian story so there really isnt much more to have a story about now in StarCraft. All there would be is the PvP stuff and that only existed because of the campaign so StarCraft is probably forever gone.
Also…WCIII Reforged, Diablo Immortal the Classic WoWs…yea I kinda dont want the current dev team to come in and ruin SC forever like they have done with everything else.
How long could a peace last though between the remaining Terrans, the Swarm under Zegara, and the Protoss need to bring order to the universe. SC3 would just have to be set far in the future after enough of the tension between the 3 has brought conflict to an inevitable necessity, and/or perhaps a new antagonist is found somewhere in the deep crevaces of space.

I have my doubts they’ll do anything with that IP. They’ve seemingly abandoned it.
