Biography

As a Senior in 2016: A second team All-Big Ten selection...started all 21 matches for the Terps, helping aid one of the top backlines in the nation...Maryland finished the regular season unbeaten (16-0-2) and posted a school-record 15-game winning streak...helped match school-record with five consecutive shutouts (9/23-10/10)...first career goal was game-winner at Michigan (10/30) to preserve an unbeaten regular season...also notched an assist vs. Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game (11/13).

As a Junior in 2015: Has provided depth defensively in 10 matches in 2015...helped the Terps bolster shutout performances against #4 Notre Dame (8/28), St. Johns (8/30), Michigan (9/11), Navy (9/14), and Michigan State (9/18)...played a key role in a 4-3 road win at Penn State.

As a Sophomore in 2014: Played in 10 games, notching starts in seven… helped the defense to shutouts in games against UMBC (9/5), Dayton (9/22), Wisconsin (9/26) and Lehigh (10/15).

As a Freshman in 2013: Played a key role in solidifying the backline in 2013...anchored the center  back position with fellow rookie Chris Odoi-Atsem...pair took over during the match against Virginia and went team went 12-2-1 thereafter...helped hold opponents to 1.19 goals per game...Terps racked up eight shutouts in 2013...started in 19 matches, seeing action 23.

Before Maryland: Member of the U-18 national team...The 2012 Gatorade State Player of the Year in Virginia...2012 First Team All-Met, All-Region and Liberty District...2010 U-17 MLS SUM Cup Champion...ranked the #16 midfielder by TopDrawerSoccer.com...also a member of D.C. United Academy.

Personal: Suliaman Dainkeh was born June 1, 1995 in Freetown, Sierra Leone... son of Alfred and Isatu Turay... nickname is Suli...coach is Marty Pfiester...came to Maryland because of its great academic and athletic programs...favorite pregame meal is chicken and pasta...sports hero is Michael Essien.
