Tharoor lauds Isro chief & the CETians who ‘took us to the moon’
Kochi: Shashi Tharoor, MP, on Thursday lauded the Isro chairman and other scientists, part of the Chandrayaan-3 team, who have completed their engineering course from colleges in Kerala.
“Indians are rightly obsessed with the IITs, but let’s salute the alumni of unsung engineering colleges who serve the public sector with dedication and who are the backbone of national enterprises like Isro.
IITians went to Silicon Valley; CETians took us to the moon,” Tharoor said in X, formerly known as Twitter.
Tharoor also said that it was worth applauding that Isro chief S Somanath is a product of TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, and many of his colleagues graduated from College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram (CET).
Posting a photo of the scientists from CET, Tharoor said, “At least seven more engineers from CET were involved in the #Chandrayaan3Success. From Left: Mohana Kumar (mission director/mechanical), Athula (electronics), Satheesh (mechanical), Narayanan (associate mission director/mechanical), Mohan (mechanical) and Shora (electronics).” tnn
