Stream, I went back and forth when looking at that salamander, but wasn't certain. Thanks. I kicked myself for being lazy and not getting better pictures.
Hi Chris...second photo looks like a young Seal Salamander to me. Basing on the pattern on the tail, the dorsal pattern and the ends of the toes appear black (usually you can only tell if they are black by looking at the underside of the toes). That one is partially missing the end of its tail but it looks keeled like Seals have. Was it found in a stream edge or seep? Seals tend to stick close to those and do not stray very far away into the nearby forest like Mountain Duskys do. Also the head is wider than the body, which is apparent even in young Seals.
