Juniper belongs to the cypress family. This is a small shrub that creeps along the ground and grows in the mountainous area of Siberia. It is from this that it gets its name. Its natural range forms small thickets with stony, crumbly soil.
This is an evergreen shrub with needles instead of leaves. Cones after fertilization swell and dry out after which seeds are formed. The shrub can reach 600 years of age, the main condition is a humid, cold climate.
