Timothy David Olyphant is an actor born on May 20, 1968 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Raised in California, Olyphant studied fine art and theater at the University of Southern California.
After moving to New York City and continuing to study acting with William Esper, he appeared in several stage productions including SantaLand Diaries, Plunge and the Monogamist for which he won a Theater World award for Outstanding debut performance.
His film career began in 1996, with The First Wives Club, followed by parts in Scream 2, Go, The Broken Hearts Club, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Rock Star, The Girl Next Door and as a romantic lead in Catch and Release opposite Jennifer Garner.
In 2004, Olyphant was cast as Sheriff Seth Bullock, a leading role in the HBO series Deadwood. Other work with HBO included an appearance on an episode of Sex in the City in 2000.
Olyphant has been married since 1991, to Alexis Knief and the couple has three children.
