Issei is the main protagonist of the anime series High School DxD. He is a second-year student at Kuoh Academy which until recently was an all-girls school. He later earns the reputation of being the biggest pervert in school, mostly due to the fact that he is constantly hiding in gym lockers and peeping through the holes to see his female classmates changing. He and two of his friends are labeled the "Perverted Trio" and are always found talking about lewd things like big breasts and/or what kind of panties a certain girl is wearing.
Issei later finds out that he belongs to the Pawn Class, the lowest rank for a demon. Initially disappointed, Issei finds hope when Rias tells him that he has great potential as a demon seeing she used all eight pawn slots just to resurrect him. Issei believes that this is an opportunity to finally realize his dream of one day becoming the all-coveted Harem King. Working towards his goal, Issei plans to rise in ranks to that of a High-Class Demon so that he too can create his own dream team (an all-female team, of course).
Notable Traits and Personality:
Issei is mostly portrayed as someone always pursuing his carnal desires, but he does from time to time tend to be selfless and caring towards his teammates when it mattered the most. Despite his reputation, Issei is willing to protect his friends to the point where he will stand up to people even those who are clearly out of his league. One example is the time when he stood up to Riser Phenex, a high-class demon and a pure-blood just like Rias and Sona Sitri. Due to his overprotective and caring personality, Issei constantly finds himself in dangerous situations meddling in other people's business. He unknowingly attracts people with his charm and lovable personality, especially when he tries to help them even at the cost of his own life.
Although a reputed pervert, Issei is clearly oblivious and clueless when it comes to girls despite all the female attention he's getting. He was deeply traumatized after the betrayal of his very first short-time girlfriend Yuuma Amano. She turned out to be a Fallen Angel and eventually killed him for his Sacred Gear. On the verge of his death, Rias Gremory appears before him and revives him as a demon. He then joins the Occult Research Club which is actually just a facade for Rias's demon team.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Issei wields a Sacred Gear called the Boosted Gear. It is later revealed that the Boosted Gear is actually one of the legendary Thirteen Longinus items which are said to have enough power to even kill an almighty God. The Boosted Gear possesses the all-powerful spirit of a Heavenly Dragon, DDraig a.k.a. the Red Dragon Emperor. The Boosted Gear has the unique ability to boost the user’s abilities every ten seconds as well as enabling the user to fire off accumulated power in a sudden burst of energy called the Dragon Shot.
The Boosted Gear also has the unique ability to transfer its power or amplify an allies’ abilities, like the time when Issei boosted Kiba’s Sacred Gear and an infinite number of swords pierced through the ground. During his rematch with Riser Phenex to reclaim Rias, Issei was able to activate his own Balance Breaker by offering his own left hand to the Red Dragon in exchange for power. His Balance Breaker, the Boosted Gear: Scale Mail allows him to boost his powers without the ten-second limit for a short period of time. He also learned the Juggernaut Drive, a double-edged technique that drains the user’s life force in exchange for unlimited power. When in Juggernaut Overdrive, Issei is granted god-like speed to the point where his opponents will no longer be able to follow him or his moves. His perverted nature also gave birth to other odd skills like the Dress Break (a unique skill that destroys a girl’s clothes when he touches them) or the Bilingual (uniquely allows him to talk to female breasts as if they have a mind of their own).
RIAS GREMORY

Rias is the female star heroine of the manga and anime series High School DxD. She is actually a demon, heiress apparent to the prestigious Gremory clan which takes pride in their pure-blooded lineage. She is commonly known as the “Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess” or the “Princess of Destruction” because of her unique powers that destroy anything they touch. She is the president of the school’s Occult Research Club which is actually just a front for her demon team for when she ascends to the throne.
Hoping to escape her reputation as the heiress of the esteemed Gremory Family or as the sister of the current Demon Lord, Rias goes to the living world and disguises herself as a third-year student at Kuoh Academy. She then forms the Occult Research Club, a unique gathering for all her demonic servants. She later revives Issei as her servant after he was killed by the Fallen Angel, Reynalle (who at the time disguised herself as the loving girlfriend Yuuma Amano). Rias grows fond of Issei, especially after realizing that it took all eight pawn slots of her demon team to resurrect him.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Rias Gremory is sweet, kind and beautiful which earned her the title as one of the Two Great Ladies of Kuoh Academy. Rias is a benevolent master who treats her servants like family. She constantly worries for her servant's safety, especially Issei who always find himself in some kind of trouble. She seems to care more about her servants than most masters. Although she sternly acts mature in front of others, she easily gets flustered, especially when other girls get too close to Issei or when he tries to flirt with them. Although she doesn’t show it much, Rias does seem innocent when it comes to matters of the heart. She eventually falls for Issei, especially when he tells her that he loves her the way that she is, not as Rias Gremory or the daughter of a High-Class demon, but simply as Rias, the Occult Research Club’s President.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Common to all demons, Rias possesses supernatural strength, enhanced stamina and immense durability. As a High-Class Demon herself, Rias is quite proficient when it comes to using magic. She inherited the Power of Destruction, the unique ability to release massive amounts of demonic energy that destroys everything it comes in contact with. The Demonic Star of Extinction is the upgraded version of her Power of Destruction where it not only destroys everything it touches, but it also pulls enemies towards it like a magnetic force. Rias is hailed by her peers as an expert tactician, always trying to outsmart her opponents, much like she is playing a game of chess.
When Rias's powers spun out of control, she used her own version of Issei's Scale Mail called the Crimson Extinct Dragonar. She eventually masters this technique and uses it as a combination attack with Issei when they fight Loki and Fenrir. When in this state, Rias's abilities are magnified tenfold, including her Powers of Destruction. She is also able to use Issei’s skills such as Boost and Transfer.
AKENO HIMEJIMA

Akeno is the sensual black-haired Vice President of the Occult Research Club. Just like Rias, Akeno is also in her third year at Kuoh Academy where she is adored by many of its students. She is the second most popular girl at school and hailed as one of the Academy’s Two Great Ladies, second only to Rias. Issei once described her as the ideal Japanese woman with her long black hair, gentle smile, big breasts and a body to die for.
It was later revealed that Akeno is actually the daughter of a Fallen Angel and a shrine maiden. Her father is Baraqiel, one of the founding leaders of the Fallen Angel Organization, the Gregori. She eventually crosses paths with Rias and later becomes her first servant. Akeno has since then served Rias as Queen in her demon team. Akeno is blessed with a number of abilities. She shows great proficiency in magic which makes her the perfect candidate for the Queen position, being able to handle both offense and defense for the team.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Despite her soft-spoken and gentle appearance, Akeno garnered a reputation for being a combat sadomasochist wherein she takes great pleasure in inflicting pain. She completely destroys her opponents both physically and mentally and isn’t one to show any sympathy towards them. She makes use of her sex appeal to her advantage to get what she wants. Just like Rias, Akeno is surprisingly clueless when it comes to love.
Although she is not one to admit it, Akeno eventually falls in love with Issei and would oftentimes be seen flirting with him when Rias is not around. Despite her calm demeanor, she gets jealous especially when he is with Rias or when Issei tries to flirt around with other girls. She is even enraged at one point when Issei almost dies during a fight with Loki and Fenrir.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Although a skilled fighter herself, she prefers to use elemental attacks (mostly lightning attacks) during battle which earned her the nickname as the “Priestess of Thunder”. As a Queen, Akeno possesses the indomitable strength of a Rook, the limitless magic of a Bishop and the superhuman speed of a Knight. She was later promoted to a Middle-Class Demon after proving her immeasurable potential and her insurmountable skills in battle.
Akeno inherited her father’s skills enabling her to use the power of light. She combines it with thunder to create her own unique magic called Holy Lightning. She is also able to enter Fallen Angel Mode where she grows black angel wings which greatly increase her powers. Akeno is also able to tap into her priestess powers with the supernatural ability to extinguish evil, which she inherited from her mother, a former Shinto priestess.
ASIA ARGENTO

Asia is the 15-year-old nun of the Catholic Church who got lost on her way to the Church when she moved to Japan. As a strong believer in God, Asia is always helping other people and treats everyone equally.
Asia first appeared in the series as an underling of Reynalle, the same Fallen Angel who posed as Issei’s girlfriend and killed him. With nowhere else to go, Asia had no choice but to rely on the Fallen Angels, who at the time were only after her healing powers. It was later revealed that Reynalle was actually after Asia’s Sacred Gear which was forcefully removed from her body and resulted in her death. Asia was later revived by Rias Gremory as a demon to serve her as one of her Bishops.
Even as a child, Asia was able to use her powers to heal people. She was later nicknamed the Holy Priestess and was revered by people like a saint. She possesses the Sacred Gear: Twilight Healing with its unique ability to heal all kinds of injuries. When her healing powers grew, she found out that she was able to heal not only human beings, but also demons and fallen angels. Hoping to acquire her unique healing powers, Diodora Astaroth (a low-level demon) injures himself and forced Asia to heal him. Asia was later excommunicated from the Church and branded as a heretic and was forced to move to Japan where she met Issei and the group.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Asia is naïve, innocent and extremely shy, especially when it comes to socializing with other people. Even after being resurrected as a Demon, she still holds on to her beliefs and continues to pray to God, even though it seems to cause her nagging headaches. She is the very definition of being optimistic. She always look for the best in people, no matter who they are, what they are, or who they are with. She treats everyone justly and will help anyone in trouble without hesitation. Asia has always dreamed of making friends and is very happy when Issei treats her as one. She has a growing fondness for Issei and feels jealous when he is around other girls.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Asia shows great potential in magic which is befitting for someone of the Bishop position. Although she doesn’t have any fighting techniques, Asia supports the team with her healing. Asia possesses the Sacred Gear: Twilight Healing which gives her the ability to heal anyone, whether it be humans or demons. Although not on par with Pheonix Tears which instantaneously heals any wounds, Asia’s Twilight Healing is just as important and proves to be a great asset for the team, especially during fights. Asia is even able to heal allies from a fair distance, albeit slightly inferior to when she actually touches them. She is also able to cover an entire field with healing magic.
Asia also has the uncanny ability to tame dragons. She first formed a pact with a baby sprite dragon (infamously known to be untamable) which she named Rassei because of its ability to use lightning attacks. After proving herself to Ophis, the Dragon God, Asia was able to form a new pact with Fafnir, who is said to be one of the all-powerful Five Dragon Kings.
KONEKO TOUJOU

Koneko is a petite 15-year-old first-year student of Kuoh Academy. She is a member of the school’s Occult Research Club and serves Rias Gremory as one of her Rooks. She is adored by her fans as the school’s lovable mascot for her cute loli-face and adorable personality.
After losing their parents, Koneko and Kuroka (her older sister) were rummaging for food in the slums when they were taken in by a low-level demon. Kuroka later discovered that the demon was planning to use Koneko in one of his experiments. Determined to protect her sister, Kuroka killed him in cold blood and has been on the run since then. Abandoned by her sister, Koneko was sentenced for the crimes of her sister. Having lost all hope, Koneko is later saved by Sirzechs Lucifer (one of the Four Great Demon Lords) and was left under the care of Rias Gremory. She has pledged a vow of loyalty to Rias and has since then been under her servitude as one of her Rooks.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Koneko is first introduced as the soft-spoken silent type who barely talks except for when she snarks or make snippy comments about Issei and his rather perverted tendencies. She rarely shows her emotions and tries to distance herself from others. Despite her cold and distant personality, she is actually a very sweet girl once she warms up to someone. She does care for her comrades, especially when they are in trouble. She is willing to jump right into battle to help her friends and even risks her own life for them. Koneko gets mad when people call her midget (oftentimes hinting at her small bust size) and throws things at them in a fit of rage.
Despite initial impressions, Koneko eventually warms up to Issei. When struggling to deal with her sister, Issei manages to help Koneko get in touch with her inner self and overcome her fear of using Senjutsu, a ki (energy) manipulation technique. She is afraid that her powers may one day go out of control like what happened to her sister when she killed their master in cold blood. Although she doesn’t say it much, Koneko does respect Issei’s attitude of not giving up even when the situation is stacked against him and his ability to risk his life for his friends.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Koneko is a cat-like demon called the Nekomata (a Hell Cat) who specializes in using ki manipulation techniques. She actually belongs to a rare kind of Nekomata called the Nekoshou who are rumored to be the strongest of all their kind. After having faced her fears, Koneko becomes an excellent Youjutsu (ki manipulation) and Senjutsu (demon arts) user much like her sister.
Koneko possesses immeasurable strength and an impenetrable defense, both traits akin to someone of the Rook class. She is able to withstand physical attacks and lift heavy objects with remarkable ease. She also has heightened senses which help her identify the opponents’ location with pinpoint accuracy. She is a skilled hand-to-hand expert, which greatly complements her superhuman strength.
After mastering Senjutsuu and Youjutsuu, she can willfully enter into Nekomata Mode. When in this state, she possesses unparalleled strength and explosive power and all of her physical abilities are magnified by tenfold. She is also shown to enter Shirone Mode by gathering all the ki around her.
YUUTO KIBA

Race: Demon (Former Human)

Nickname: Prince of Kuoh Academy
"I will become a sword for my comrades."
Yuuto is the blonde-haired pretty boy of Rias’s demon team. He is also part of the Occult Research Club and he serves Rias Gremory as one of her Knights. Yuuto is adored by many female students and despised by their male counterparts. He is referred to by many as the Prince of Kuoh Academy for his sweet charm and good looks.
Yuuto is a survivor of the horrific Holy Sword Project, an underground experiment supervised by the Church to develop children who can wield Holy Swords to fight demons. The Project was a failure and so the Church decided to eliminate all traces of the experiment, including all of the children. Yuuto lost all his friends which gave birth to his unnerving hate for all Holy Swords, specifically the Excalibur. Although he managed to escape, he eventually lost his life when he inhaled a little bit of the poison which was used to kill all the children back at the Church. He was later revived by Rias Gremory as a demon to live a life of vengeance hoping to one day destroy all Holy Swords. He has served Rias since then as one of her Rooks.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Despite Yuuto’s cheerful and bubbly personality, he does have a dark side to him which he tries to forget. Although generally calm and cool-headed, Yuuto can get irrational especially when dealing with situations that are related to Holy Swords. During those times, he tends to put revenge before reason, always obsessing about his vendetta. Keeping up with appearances, Yuuto is very polite and generally calm although Issei did hint out that he does have a lecherous side to him from time to time. Yuuto sees Issei as a rival and hopes to one day fight him fair and square. He is always there for his friends and would even sacrifice his own life to save theirs.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Yuuto is a low-class demon with all the abilities and powers attributed to all demons alike: superhuman strength, enhanced stamina and increased durability. He is also capable of using magic like that time where he once used illusions on an opponent to confuse and disorient them. With his god-like speed, Yuuto is a highly skilled swordsman with skills that are beyond compare.
Yuuto possesses the Sacred Gear: Sword Birth that has the unique ability to create swords out of nowhere. He is able to generate demon swords with varying properties like the Flame Delete (an ice blade that negates and absorbs all fire-based attacks) and the Holy Eraser (a sword of darkness that devours all light magic). During his fight with Karlamine, Yuuto uses the technique Field of Swords where he generates a massive amount of blades from the ground to pierce his opponents. His Balance Breaker is the Sword of Betrayer which allows him to create a unique sword that is both Holy and Demonic in nature. He can also create swords with combined elemental attributes like fire and lightning or lightning and water.
Yuuto later came into possession of the legendary demon swords from Siegfried, a former member of the Hero faction. The Gram, or the Sword of the Sun, is said to be the strongest demon sword in history. Other demon swords he comes in possession of are the Balmung (a unique sword that controls wind), Nothung (can tear through space and time), Tyrfing (with a destructive power strong enough to destroy mountains and leave craters behind in its wake) and Dainsleif (can control ice to freeze his opponents).
XENOVIA QUARTA

"In the name of God, I will bring judgment upon you with my own hands."
Xenovia is the young blue-haired swordswoman who served as an exorcist of the Catholic Church. She was sent to Japan to locate and destroy the missing fragments of the Holy Sword Excalibur which were stolen by the Fallen Angels. After learning of the grisly truth of God’s death, she was excommunicated and branded as a heretic. Left with no purpose, she turns to Rias Gremory and asks to be reborn as a demon to serve as her second Knight.
Xenovia was raised and trained by Griselda Quarta, a former exorcist of the Catholic Church. She was trained at a young age to one day wield the all-powerful Durandal whose powers are said to be equal or greater than that of the almighty Excalibur. She was partnered with Irina Shidou (a Church follower and Issei’s childhood friend) and sent in by the Church to find the missing Excalibur fragments.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Xenovia is the composed and quiet type of girl. Despite her calm personality, she can be intimidatingly serious when it comes to her mission. She can be adamant and stubborn to a fault. Although she was initially rude to Asia calling her a "witch" and all, she eventually befriends Asia and becomes the best of friends. Although she doesn't look like it, she is actually remarkably smart. In fact, Xenovia is the smartest person in class even though she does lack common sense. Xenovia can be quite headstrong and arrogant when it comes to fighting. She is confident in her skills and would rather prefer to overwhelm her opponents simply with sheer strength.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Xenovia is actually a natural-born Holy Sword wielder with the unique ability to use any Holy Sword and draw out its full potential without having to go through rituals, experiments or any other artificial means. She is a skilled swordswoman with skills that are on par with Yuuto, Rias’ knight. Unlike Yuuto who relies on speed, Xenovia relies on brash tactics and brute strength.
When Xenovia first became an exorcist of the Church, she was given the Excalibur Destruction. It's destructive power alone is strong enough to shatter anything it comes in contact with. Even Yuuto’s Sword Birth doesn’t stand a chance against it. She is unable to use Holy Swords after she was reborn as a demon and now uses the Durandal, an Excalibur-tier sword that can cut through anything. She later came into possession with all seven fragments of the Holy Sword Excalibur which fused with the Durandal to create the Ex-Durandal. With the Ex-Durandal, Xenovia is able to use the abilities of all seven Excalibur fragments like the Mimicry or the Destruction.
GASPER VLADI

Gasper is a cross-dressing first-year student of Kuoh Academy. He is actually a half-vampire-half-human. Unlike most boys at the academy, Gasper likes to dress up as a girl. He was told by Rias to stay within the restricted area of the club room due to his rather unpredictable and uncontrollable powers.
Gasper is actually the son of a noble Vampire Lord and of a human woman. Like most creatures, vampires highly value their pure-blooded lineage. Because Gasper was born of a human woman, he was greatly ostracized and discriminated even by his own family even more so after they discovered his powers. He is constantly feared and infinitely despised for his uncanny power to stop time believing him to be a threat to their own power. He managed to muster enough courage to escape from his house only to be pursued by vagrant Vampire hunters and eventually losing his life to one. Rias found him on the verge of death when she decided to revive him as a demon. Gasper has since then been in the servitude of Rias Gremory as one of her Bishops.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Due to his rather odd and peculiar personality towards dressing up, Gasper has grown to be shy and somewhat of a coward with a shut-in personality. He finds women’s clothing to be cute and adorable and has since then been dressing up as one. With Issei’s help and the rest of the team, Gasper eventually develops self-confidence and is even able to muster up enough courage to speak his own mind on several occasions. Albeit the shy person that he is, Gasper deeply values his friendship with Issei and the team and would even risk his own life for theirs like that one time where he got knocked unconscious while trying to defend them.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Aside from his ability to stop time, Gasper is also able to tap into his vampire abilities like controlling bats or creating fogs and manipulate the shadows from within. He can even use the shadows to create hands to restrict his opponents and drain their power. He is exceptionally skilled in the art of human magic, a trait befitting for someone of the Bishop position.
Gasper possesses the all-powerful Sacred Gear: The Forbidden Balor View with its unique ability to freeze everything in his field of vision. Although not fully in control of this power yet, he is able to temporarily stop time. He later acquires his own version of a Balance Breaker called the Forbidden Invade Balor of the Beast where he can spawn creatures through the mist to attack his opponents and use these monsters to activate his Sacred Gear through their eyes.
ROSSWEISSE

Race: Demon (Former Valkyrie)

Nickname: 100-Yen Shop Valkyrie
Rossweisse is the white-haired Valkyrie who formerly served Odin, the leader of the all-powerful Gods of Asgard. She later poses as the young and beautiful Civics teacher at Kuoh Academy. She was later persuaded into serving Rias Gremory as the second Rook in her demon team after Odin abandoned her.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Rossweisse can tend to be overly serious when it comes to her job. Her uncontrollable and impulsive behavior when it comes to buying cheap things has earned her the nickname as the “100 Yen Shop Valkyrie”. She is unable to hold her liquor to the point where she can get cranky when people make fun of her still not having a boyfriend at her age. Although she doesn’t show her emotions much, she does genuinely care for Issei and the team. She eventually falls in love with Issei especially when he stood up for her against Euclid. She is clearly a yandere, a person who gets crazy over something or someone to the point where they can get violent in the pursuit of it all.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Valkyries are known to be highly proficient in Norse magic. Rossweisse specializes in bombarding attacks and supports the team with her long-ranged attacks. She is also shown to have the ability to use ice, lightning, and water magic. She is also capable of performing summoning magic. Deeming it necessary to fill her role as a Rook, Rossweisse left to train with a Norse mage. She later returns after having learned new defensive magic that is strong enough to even withstand Kiba's or Issei’s Balance Breaker.
RISER PHENEX

Nickname: The Immortal
Riser is a high-ranking demon and heir to well-respected Phenex Family, a pure-blooded family of demons who have inherited the regenerative powers of the legendary Pheonix. He is first introduced as Rias’ fiancée after both of their parents decided to keep their demon bloodlines pure. Rias challenges Riser and his demon team to a Rating Game in hopes of reclaiming her freedom from the arranged marriage she was forced into.
Without a doubt, Riser can be quite a jerk. Even though he was already engaged to Rias, he kissed one of his subordinates in front of Issei just to rub it in his face. Although posing as the arrogant playboy, Riser does have a honorable side to him like the time where he allowed Rias ten days to prepare for the said Rating Game or the time where he offered clemency to Rias’ servants if she surrendered. He does have a condescending personality towards all low-class demons believing himself to be higher than everyone else. He tends to have a God-complex just because he is immortal and can regenerate wounds quickly. He is quick to anger especially when Issei stands up to him to defend her master, Rias Gremory.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Riser inherited quick regenerative abilities and is said to be immortal to any damage, traits akin to the legendary Pheonix (a mythical creature that is impervious to death and continues to be reborn like rising from its ashes). His regenerative abilities are powerful enough where at one point he was even able to regenerate lost limbs during his fight against Rias. Riser is truly immortal with the ability to recover from any fatal wound instantaneously. As a high-class demon, Riser possesses massive amounts of demonic power and stand toe-to-toe against Rias and her Powers of Destruction. Although proficient in the use of different types of magic, Riser prefers to use fire-based attacks just like the Pheonix.
YUBELLUNA

Yubelluna is Riser’s strongest servant and she serves him as her Queen. She specializes in explosive magic and likes blowing stuff up which earned her the nickname as the “Bomb Queen”. Yubelluna is totally obedient and submissive to Riser and obediently follows his orders without hesitation. This wily old coot has a reputation for using underhanded tactics to take out her opponents. She is willing to get her hands dirty just to get the job done. Appearances aside, Yubelluna turns out to be quite a cunning woman where she was even able to outsmart the Priestess of Thunder Akeno in a one-on-one battle during a Rating Game.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
As a Queen, Yubelluna possesses all the traits of a Knight (speed), a Rook (strength) and a Bishop (latent magic). Even though she is a low-class demon, Yubelluna is quite proficient in fire magic, mostly explosions. She even manages to take out Koneko and Yuuto in one hit. She fought the Priestess of Thunder Akeno on equal grounds and managed to beat her albeit not entirely because of her skills, but she did still defeat her nonetheless.
KARLAMINE

Karlamine is the brown-haired and green-eyed swordswoman who serves Riser as one of his Knights. She is what you would call a sword freak; everything in her world revolves around swords. She respects Yuuto as a fellow swordsman and gives high regard to his skills as a swordsman. Karlamine honors the Bushido Code and challenges Yuuto to a duel between two equally-skilled swordsmen. Despite her reservations, she is willing to do anything to get the job done, even get her hands dirty if need be.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
As to be expected, Karlamine also has exceptional speed which complements her invincible swordsmanship. She is a master swordswoman with skills rivaling to that of Yuuto, Rias’ Knight. She uses a sword as her main weapon of choice and keeps a hidden dagger as a backup weapon. She uses fire magic on her weapons to increase the destructive power of her attacks.
SIRIS

Siris is the black-haired swordswoman who serves Riser as one of his Knights. She is a devout follower of Riser and obediently follows his order without hesitation. She use brash tactics and overpowers her opponents with brute force. She has no reservations and is willing to do anything to get things done.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Demons of the Knight Class possess superhuman speed and superior mobility. Aside from her remarkable speed and mobility, Siris also possesses superhuman strength. She is able to handle the Zweihander (a long bastard sword) with remarkable ease. Siris uses wind magic to create whirlwind attacks and powerful shockwaves by simply waving her sword around.
XUELAN

Xuelan is the Chinese black-haired fighter who serves Riser as one of his Rooks. She is a devoted follower of Riser and obediently follows his every order. Although she hardly shows her emotions, Xuelan actually cares for her teammates and will oftentimes become overprotective. She does have a bad habit of underestimating her opponents which often leads to her failure.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
True to her Chinese heritage, Xuelan is a skilled martial arts fighter. She incorporates Kung Fu martial arts in all her attacks and techniques. Like Koneko, Xuelan also possesses superhuman strength that can lift heavy objects with ease. She also has astonishing endurance and is able to hold her own in a battle against higher level demons. Even Koneko believed Xuelan to have skills on par to that of a Queen. She adds fire magic to her hands and feet to boost the impact and destructive power of her attacks.
ISABELA

Isabela is the brown-haired masked fighter who serves Riser as one of his Rooks. Unlike the rest of the group, Isabela takes things seriously. She doesn’t underestimate her opponents and fights them to the best of her abilities. She is devoted and loyal to Riser and will take out anyone who stands in Riser’s way. Although she is a demon, Isabela unexpectedly has strong morals and is displeased with the idea of sacrificing pawns for the sake of victory. She also cares for the team and would do anything for them.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
As a Rook, Isabela relies on her undisputed strength. She is a skilled hand-to-hand expert and charges her opponents head-on. She uses her supernatural strength to overpower her opponents in a one-on-one duel like that time where she faced Issei head-on during a Rating Game. Although she is able to use magic, she prefers to fight her opponents with brute force in a close-quarter combat.
MIRA

Mira is the blue-haired fighter of Riser’s team. She is devoted to Riser and serves him as one of her many pawns. Even among the Pawn class, Mira is exceptionally strong. Although quite a skilled fighter, she has a bad habit of underestimating her opponent like that time where she fought Issei. Mira submissively follows Riser’s order and is willing to do anything for his sake, even if it means sacrificing her life for the team.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Pawns have the unique inherent ability to promote themselves to a higher class whenever they reach their enemies’ headquarters. During promotion, a Pawn is able to use all traits of the other classes whether it’s of a Queen (defense), a Bishop (magic), a Knight (speed) or a Rook (strength). Even a weak Pawn is able to fight a Queen on equal ground when promoted. Mira utilizes wind magic to increase the impact of her attacks.
ILE AND NEL

Ile and Nel are the playful twins in Riser’s team. They are loyal to Riser and serve him as his Pawns. Despite their child-like appearances, both Ille and Nel show a remarkable strength that shouldn’t be underestimated. They follow Riser and are willing to take down any opponent despite their rank. However on a number of occasions, their playful personalities get the better of them in battle. Absorbed in having too much fun, they tend to underestimate their opponents, like the time when they fought Issei and quickly lost.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Just like Mira, Ile and Nel also possess the unique traits of a Promotion if certain conditions are met. Like all demons, Ile and Nel possess superior strength, increased speed, and remarkable endurance. They are also able to use fire magic which they use on their chainsaws. With the extra power embedded, they are able to cut through pretty much anything.
SONA SITRI

Sona is the bespectacled Student Council President of Kuoh Academy. Like Rias and Akeno, she is also a third-year student. She is as popular as Rias and Akeno of the school’s Occult Research Club. Sona is also the heiress apparent to the Sitri Family and also uses the Student Council as a front for her own demon team. She is also Rias’s childhood friend and a well-respected rival in all aspects of her life. As expected of the Student Council President, Sona is very strict, even towards her own servants. She is shown to be remarkably intelligent and takes things seriously, whether it be a Student Council matter or something linked to the Sitri Family. She can be overly protective when it comes to her team or her family, especially her big sister, Serafall Leviathan (one of the Four Great Demon Lords).
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Sona is highly proficient in water-based magic. She is able to create creatures out of water to attack her opponents. What makes her valuable as the leader is her unparalleled skill when it comes to strategies. As a master tactician, Sona is able to draw out her team’s potential and wisely use them to the best of their abilities. She also uses her wits to occasionally outsmart her opponents, like the time when she fought Rias's demon team in a Rating Game. As heiress to the esteemed Sitri Family, Sona possesses massive amounts of demonic power that puts Riser’s powers to shame.
TSUBAKI SHINRA

Tsubaki is the black-haired Vice President of Kuoh Academy’s Student Council. She is also adored by many of her fans and is considered to be one of the most popular girls at the academy. She is Sona's right-hand and confidante in all matters. She is devoted and loyal to Sona and serves her to the fullest of her abilities as her Queen. Tsubaki shares a strict and serious personality with Sona. She is a reliable servant and always supports Sona through the good and the bad. Despite her calm demeanor, Tsubaki does get flustered from time to time, especially when around Yuuto.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Tsubaki possesses the Sacred Gear: Mirror Alice with the unique ability to create mystical mirrors that reflect twice the damage to the opponent when it is broken. She is able to instantaneously summon two mirrors without any cool down period in between them. With enough training, she has the ability to summon multiple mirrors at the same time. Her Balance Breaker allows her to summon three different types of demons through the mirror: the Dormouse (spews sleeping gas to knock out its opponents), the March Rabbit (forces its opponents into an agitated state) and the Mad Hatter (forces its opponents to see hallucinations).
GENSHIROU SAJI

Nickname: Super Rookie
Saji is the arrogant new kid on Sona’s demon team. He is actually a second-year student at Kuoh Academy. He recently joins Sona’s team and serves her as one of her Pawns, like Issei. Although he pretends to flirt around with other girls, Saji only has eyes for Sona, his master. Although generally aloof and a bit laid-back, Saji does have a reliable side to him, especially when it matters the most. He treats his teammates like family and is willing to do anything for them, especially when it comes to Sona. He oftentimes gets in fights with Issei, mostly because he is jealous of what Issei has with Rias unlike what he has with Sona.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
As a Pawn, Saji is also able to use Promotion by entering into the enemy’s headquarters. Aside from the usual skills that are common between demons, Saji also possesses the Sacred Gear: the Vritra. The Vritra are four different Sacred Gears, each with a unique and different ability. The Vritra is said to house the spirit of the Prison Dragon who was once a member of the all-powerful Five Dragon Kings. Albeit not fully in control of his sacred gear yet, Saji is able to use Absorption Line (his first Sacred Gear) which can restrict his opponents and absorb their power. Other Sacred Gears he has in possession are the Blaze Black Flare (that can create deadly flames to entirely burn its opponent), the Delete Field (can temporarily drain its opponent’s powers) and the Shadow Prison (imprisons its opponents in a shadow-like aura that restricts their movement).
VALI LUCIFER

Nickname: White Dragon Emperor

Vali is the silver-haired descendant of the first Demon Lord, the original Lucifer. He is the leader of the infamous Vali team who until recently were affiliated with the notorious Khaos Brigade. He is destined to be Issei’s rival for he possesses the Sacred Gear: Divine Dividing which is said to house the spirit of the White Dragon Emperor Albion, the destined rival of the Red Dragon Emperor DDraig.
Half-breeds have been shunned by society since the dawn of time. Although Vali is the son of a noble Demon Lord, he has always been an outcast unable to fit in with humans or demons. His own family abandoned him because they feared his overwhelming demonic powers. Even his own grandfather went out of his way to beat him up. Fed up with the harsh treatment he had to endure during his childhood, he mustered enough courage to run away from home. He was later found and taken in by Azazel who raised and trained him. He joined the Grigori, a Fallen Angel Organization, with the full intention of one day killing both his father and grandfather for the cruelty they had showed during his childhood.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Despite his rather cold and ruthless personality, Vali actually has a caring side to him, especially when it comes to his comrades and his team. Vali takes pride in his own strength and can sometimes come off as somewhat overzealous and overly confident to a fault. He is shown to be quite the battle maniac and always obsesses about finding stronger opponents to test his strength. He has pointed out that he is more interested in fighting than anything else.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
As a descendant of the first Demon Lord, Vali inherited massive amounts of demonic power. Azazel even mentioned at one point that Vali could be the strongest host of the White Dragon Emperor in all known history, given that he wields the indomitable powers of Albion and his rather unique demonic heritage. It goes without saying that Vali is extremely proficient in the use of magic. He has the uncanny talent of mastering spells simply by reading through them, like the time when he instantly learned Norse magic when he fought Loki and Odin. Although a half-breed, Vali is said to have superhuman speed and unlimited stamina.
Vali wields the Sacred Gear Divine Dividing which is said to be one of the Thirteen Legendary Longinus items like Issei’s Boosted Gear. Unlike the Boosted Gear, the Divine Dividing takes on the form of a pair of luminescent wings on the user’s back. The Divine Dividing works quite the opposite to that of the Boosted Gear. Instead of boosting the host's powers, the Divine Dividing halves the opponent's powers. He is also able to use the drained power to amplify his own physical abilities.
Vali’s Balance Breaker is the Divine Dividing: Scale Mail which allows the user to temporarily use its abilities without the 10-second limit. Unlike the Boosted Gear, Vali’s Divine Dividing can also be used to shrink objects using its ability, the Half Dimension. Like Issei, Vali can also perform the Juggernaut Drive, although it is not as taxing as Issei's since he has massive amounts of demonic energy to spare. The Empireo Juggernaut Overdrive is Vali’s upgraded version of the Juggernaut Overdrive where he is able to use the Compression Divider (an enhanced version of the Half Dimension where he can specifically halve the target’s size until they completely cease to exist).
ARTHUR PENDRAGON

Arthur is the blonde-haired swordsman of Vali’s team. He is actually a descendant of the legendary King of Camelot and the infamous witch Morgan le Fay. He is known to be a formidable fighter with incomparable swordsmanship skills making him the strongest swordsman in known history. Even Kiba and Xenovia don't stand a chance against him.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Arthur is devoted to Vali and follows him without hesitation. He acts as Vali’s right-hand man and is willing to face anyone who stands in their way. He is an honorable warrior and he is genuinely against using dirty tactics to accomplish his goals. Generally calm and polite, Arthur’s personality takes a drastic change when in battle. Just like Vali, he is also a combat freak who enjoys a good fight against a strong opponent. Although he doesn’t show it much, he does care deeply for the team.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Arthur is also a natural-born Holy Sword wielder just like Xenovia. His god-like skills with the sword and his superhuman speed have earned him the nickname of the “Strongest Holy Sword User”. He wields the Holy Sword Caliburn (also known as the mythical Sword in the Stone) with the innate ability to actually rip through space and time, like the time when he led Issei’s group through the Dimensional Gap in order to save Rias. He was in possession of the Excalibur Ruler which is said to be the strongest of all the seven Excalibur fragments. He later handed it down to Irina Shidou when she was reincarnated into an Angel to serve as Michael's bodyguard.
KUROKA

Race: Half-Demon, Half-Nekomata (Hell Cat)

Nickname: Hell Cat
Kuroka is the voluptuous black-haired Nekomata of Vali’s Team. She is actually Koneko’s older sister who turned into a stray demon after she killed their master in order to protect Koneko. She has since then been doing all sorts of mischievous things and eventually earned herself a reputation as an SS-class Demon, one of the most wanted criminals in the Underworld. She crosses paths with Vali in the Khaos Brigade where she becomes an important member of the team.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Kuroka is portrayed as the playful, lascivious and sex-crazed type of person. She is very sensual and likes to flirt around with Vali and Issei, whom she sees are the strongest people on Earth seeing they are hosts of the legendary Heavenly Dragons. Although she hates to admit it, Kuroka actually does care for Koneko and will do anything to protect her, even kill her own master. She goes insane whenever she senses Koneko is in danger. She trusts Vali wholeheartedly and will do anything to help accomplish her mission.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Kuroka shows an exceptional talent for magic. She is a skilled hand-to-hand expert and uses Senjutsu and Youjutsu techniques in her attacks. She is even able to create multiple clones of herself to confuse her opponents. She is also able to fire massive bursts of demonic energy at her opponents, like the time when she fought Issei and Kuroka. It is later shown that her actual skill lies in her ability to manipulate space and time, although she isn't fully in control of this power yet.
BIKOU

Nickname: Monkey King
Bikou is the good-looking black-haired swordsman of Vali's team. He is actually a descendant of the legendary Sun Wukong, the “Great Victorious Fighting Buddha”. He left his clan in search of stronger opponents and joined the Khaos Brigade where he met Vali and later became an irreplaceable member of the team.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Bikou is shown to have a frivolous and playful personality, always finding the time to make fun of others, especially Issei. Despite his playful personality, Bikou is extremely serious when it comes to fighting. He is also a battle freak who enjoys fighting strong opponents, like when he challenged a Dragon straight-on. He also pointed out that he wanted to fight Issei in the near future, seeing him as a worthy rival. He is dedicated to Vali and willingly follows his orders without any hesitation.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Bikou is a skilled fighter. He inherited the legendary golden staff, the Nyoi-bo from his ancestors. The Nyoi-bo has the unique ability to stretch itself and still retain the strength and impact of its attacks. He can also summon a golden cloud which he can ride and control in the air. He is a capable fighter and remarkably skilled with his staff. He later earns the title of the “Monkey King”. Azazel mentions that he is Son Goku of the Journey of the West myth.
FENRIR

Nickname: God-Devouring Wolf
Fenrir is the giant ash-grey wolf of Vali’s team. He first appeared as Loki’s son (the Norse God of Mischief) where he fought against Rias’s and Sitri’s teams. His very existence is a legend in itself. This mythical creature is said to possess fangs and claws powerful enough to defeat and even kill a God (hence the title the “God-Devouring Wolf). Even Vali went out of his way to set a trap for Loki and secure Fenrir, realizing his potential as a great addition to his team.
Notable Traits and Personality:
Fenrir is loyal to a fault to the Norse God Loki who is both his father and his maker. He obediently follows his every command and will kill anyone who stands in his way. Fenrir takes pride in his strength. He has on numerous occasions pointed out that Bikou and Kuroka are the weakest members of the group. He has an extremely short temper and oftentimes blindly attacks his opponents in a fit of rage.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Fenrir’s combat skills are heightened by his animal instincts. His strongest weapons are his powerful fangs which are said to have the power to kill anything, even the all-powerful Gods and legendary Dragons. Fenrir can move at god-like speeds to the point where it is hard for human eyes to keep up. His claws are powerful enough to rip through a scale armor, as shown when he bites through Issei’s Scale Mail.
