'Aurea Compacta’ is a golden selection of Caucasian spruce with a nice dense habit and a good golden yellow color to the needles. The color comes out when the sun hits the needles. More shadier locations will dampen the colors. ‘Aurea Compacta’ may reach 10-12 in height in 10 years. Many have compared this selection to ‘Skylands’ however many conifer experts believed ‘Aurea Compacta’ is more compact and has a more irregular overall shape.
