1.THE MEMORIAL CHORTEN

The memorial chorten also known as Thimphu chorten was situated in the center of the town. Thimphu chorten was built by Third Druk Gyelpo JIGME DORJI WANGCHUK in the year of 1974. Most of the bhutanese people visit there to take away their sins as they are much into devotions. Some of the people believed that visiting the early in the morining is the best time to chant mantras so they can recieved blessing from heavens.

2.TASHICHOEDZONG

Tashichoedzong is one of the most popular dzong where people and the monastric bodies gethered mostly during the festival time. Thimphu dzong is also a adminstrative center and a important religious site for the monastric bodies. It is also believed that the dzong was constructed in bhutanese way without any nails.Apart from its administrative functions, Tashichho Dzong is also the venue for several religious and cultural events, including the annual Thimphu Tshechu festival. During this festival, locals and tourists gather to witness traditional mask dances, religious rituals, and vibrant celebrations.

3.PUNAKHA DZONG

Phodrang Punakha dzong is the second oldest and the second largest dzong in our country. Punakha dzong is also known as pugthang Dewachen phodrangand it is located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.. After the confluence of these pho chhu and mo chhu rivers the it is known as Puna Tsang chu. The head of the churchman of Bhutan with his entourage of monks spend the winter in this dzong and during summer they shift to Thimphu. Jacaranda trees which grows around the dzong, blooming with mauve flowers in the spring.

Khamsum Yulley Namgyal is a chorten overlooking the Punakha Valley. It was built with a specific function in mind toward off evil spirits in Bhutan and across the world and to bring the peace and harmony to all living things. Despite its relatively recent construction, Khamsum Yulley Namgyal was built in strict accordance with traditional teachings. To built the chorten it took nine years. Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten was built in the year 2004 by the Honourable Queen of Bhutan. The queen made sure that every traditional aspect and teaching was taken into consideration while the Chorten was being constructed. Owing to the thoughtful architecture and beauty on it beholds, Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten is one of the best places to visit in Bhutan.

5.DOCHULA PASSES

The Dochula pass has a historical memories of the soldier who have come forward to safe our country from assam attraction in 2003. There are of 108 stupa where most of the tourist visit as the view is more beautiful and we find peaceful surrounding. Like many places in Bhutan, Dochula Pass is adorned with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind and the fluttering of the flags is believed to spread positive energy and prayers to the heavens.

6.PARO TAKTSANG

Paro Taktsang the Tiger Nest is located in the cliffside of upper paro valley. Paro taktsang is one of the most sacred place pilgrimage place. It holds great religious significance. The journey to Paro Taktsang involves a hike along a well-maintained trail through a beautiful landscape where everybody can enjoy with rewards. The sense of achievement and the breathtaking views along the way make the hike a memorable day. Visitors to Tiger’s Nest have the opportunity to light butter lamps as offerings, symbolizing the illumination of wisdom and the dispelling of darkness.

Wangdue Phodrang, commonly known as Wangdue, is a district and town located in central Bhutan. It is one of the 20 districts of Bhutan and is known for its picturesque landscapes, historical landmarks, and vibrant local culture. Here are some key features and attractions of Wangdue Phodrang.

Tashigang dzong was built in 1659 at top of the edge with steep cliffs on three sides, overlooking the Drangme Chhu and Gamri rivers.. Trashigang Dzong is a significant landmark in the region and holds cultural and religious importance.

9.CHORTEN KORA(Trashiyangtse)

It was built around 1740 by Lama Ngawang Loday so that pilgrims could visit the temple in Trashiyangtse instead of making their trip to Nepal. It states that a young girl form Tawang, was belived that a Khandom(Dakini) agreed to be buried alive inside the Chorten. One of the unique features of Chorten Kora is the circumambulation path that surrounds the chorten. Pilgrims and devotees undertake a ritualistic walk, known as the “kora,” around the chorten. people believed to accumulate merit and cleanse one’s sins.

10.BHUUDHA DORDENMA

Bhuddha dordenma was constructed in 2015 to the honor the 60th Birthday of Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth king of Bhutan.it is seen that this statue had been killed two birds with one stone by fulfilling both prophecies in glimmering fashion. This statue of Buddha Dordenma stands at a towering 169 feet tall and is truly breathtaking to behold. This place gives stunning view of Thimphu and visitors can enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Buddha Point has become a popular destination for pilgrims and spiritual seekers. Many Bhutanese people and visitors undertake a pilgrimage to the site, circumambulating the statue and offering prayers and prostrations.
