Hypospadias Surgery

Abstract

Hypospadias is a wide spectrum of anomalies involving the ventral penile structures that have in common that the urethral meatus is on the under surface of the penis or perineum. The anomalies involve the prepuce, the glans, the ventral penile fascia, the penile skin and fascia, the urethra and urethral plate, the median raphe, the anoscrotal distance, the scrotum, the corpus spongiosum, the tunica albuginea, and occasionally the corpus cavernosum. There may be associated undescended testis or imperforate anus. It may also be a part of several syndromes or associated with buried penis or penile torsion. The glans in hypospadias may be classified into cleft glans, incomplete cleft, and flat glans.
