Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Filicoides'

 Fernsprey False Cypress is an evergreen conifer shrub with a loose upright habit.  The graceful arching branches sport small, medium green foliage reminiscent of a fern frond that holds its color well in winter.  Prefers full sun and moist well-drained soil.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Water regularly but needs well-drained soil.  Juniper blight, root rot, and certain insect pests can be issues if soil to wet. Shelter from hard winds.  In southern climates, young plants may burn with direct afternoon sun.

 LANDSCAPE USES:  Specimen or Groups plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Rock Garden, Foundation Planting, Hedges, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS: Hosta, Azalea, Heavenly Bamboo
