Gale Harold, who recurs as the love interest of Teri Hatcher‘s character on Desperate Housewives, has been hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday. As of Thursday evening, the AP reports, the 38-year-old actor was still in Los Angeles County USC Medical Center’s intensive care unit, but despite swelling on his brain and a fractured shoulder, hospital officials say he is improving and should recover. In a statement, the producers of Desperate Housewives said, “Gale is a part of the Desperate Housewives family, and our thoughts and wishes are with him for a speedy recovery.” No one else was injured in the accident.

Harold first appeared on Desperate Housewives in last May’s season finale.

He’s best known for playing Brian Kinney on Showtime’s Queer as Folk. He also starred on Fox’s Vanished.
