The Rio Festival is ready to take over the streets of Brazil from February 9 to February 17, 2024. This annual carnival showcases colourful parades, grand floats, samba dances, street shows, bands, and various competitions. People from all over the world come to see this celebration because of its lively performances, enthusiasm, and spirit that lightens up the streets of Brazil.

For its 2024 edition, the Rio Carnival is going to see a myriad of performances in various categories. To begin with, there will be samba parades by access groups on February 9 and 10. This will be followed by parades of special groups on February 11 and 12. The best samba schools in Brazil will perform with extravagant costumes and floats during this period. There will be a Children’s Parade at the Sambadrome on February 13. The magnificent and much-awaited Champion’s Parade will take place on February 17. The Rio de Janeiro Carnival, often referred to as the Greatest Show on Earth, is celebrated five days preceding Ash Wednesday. This day marks the beginning of Lent in the Catholic calendar. It is a cultural celebration in the capital of Brazil and sees millions of people on its streets to celebrate this extravaganza each year. The carnival first began in 1723 and has since evolved into a cultural celebration that is attended by locals and tourists alike. It was in the late 19th century that this celebration took a grand turn. Parades, military bands, and grand floats were included in the carnival during this time.
