Plano residents can drop off their live Christmas trees for recycling at several city parks.

What you need to know

Through Jan. 2, Plano residents can drop their live trees off at one of the following locations:
  • Jack Carter Park, 2601 Pleasant Valley Drive, Plano (south lot off Pleasant Valley)
  • Old Shepard Place Park, 1301 Winding Hollow Lane, Plano (northeast corner of Shepton lot off Plano Parkway)
  • Russell Creek Park, 3500 McDermott Road, Plano (northeast lot off McDermott Road)
  • Schell Park, 2305 Laurel Lane, Plano (southeast lot off Laurel Lane)
What else

All ornaments, lights, tinsel and tree stands must be removed from trees. Trees with fake snow cannot be recycled. Recycled trees become Texas Pure Products mulch and compost.

Residents can also set pumpkins in their yard waste bag, and Texas Pure Products will turn them into compost.

Unwanted holiday lights can be dropped off at one of multiple community electronic recycling events. More information on times and locations for those events can be found on the city’s website.
