THERE’S a new Ford B-MAX conversion, which should prove ideal for business users and company car drivers with reduced mobility.
The Ford B-MAX with a Turnout swivel seat has been engineered by Swedish company Autoadapt.
The ingenious but practical seating in the B-MAX will be premiered at the Ford stand during the 30th Mobility Roadshow 27-29 June at the Telford International Centre, west Midlands.

The Ford B-MAX is an obvious choice for conversion, its unique B-pillar-free design allowing exceptionally good legroom for transferring a wheelchair to and from the vehicle.
The swivel seat has its belt attachment integrated in the seat. All parts have passed both crash and tensile tests, says Autoadapt.
“It pleases me immensely when companies of Ford’s calibre take people with limited mobility seriously.
“The requirements for safety set by the automotive industry is not only a recognition of us as a supplier, it is also a benchmark for the entire vehicle adaptation industry. In a sense, you could say that Ford has made accessibility more accessible,” commented Peter Wahlsten, Autoadapt executive vice president.
Ford says the Autoadapt Turnout swivel seat conversion will add around £2500 to the retail price of the Ford B-MAX. Motability schemes have still to be finalised.
Founded in 1996, Swedish Autoadapt is a leading manufacturer of adapting vehicles for users with limited mobility.
