Common name: Serbian spruce

Mature ht and spread: 8-15 m tall, 3-5 m wide

Form: very narrow, conical, pendulous upward sweeping branches

Conditions: full sun, acidic, summer moist, well drained soil, tolerant of infertile, compacted soil, occasional flooding and wind

Leaf: pegs (all spruce family), looks frosted underside, needles blunt, bluish green

Fall: none

Flower: none

Cone: small, typical spruce cone

Limits: not shade tolerant, spruces never shade tolerant, don’t tolerate extreme heat, or drought in shallow soil

Suitable uses: specimen, accent, barrier, screen

Native to: Serbia
