May 8, 2018 - Mindanao Wattled Broadbill, Mindanao Broadbill, or Wattled Broadbill (Sarcophanops steerii)

These broadbills are found only in the Philippines on the islands of Mindanao, Dinagat, Siargao, and Basilan and the islets of Poneas and Malamaui. They eat insects, foraging alone, in pairs, or in small groups, and sometimes join mixed-species flocks. Not much is known about their nesting habits, but they probably breed between April and June. They are classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN, as deforestation has caused their population to decline.
