The Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) is a large cormorant that is found worldwide. They are found in a range of water habitats, from rivers, lakes, reservoirs and coast marine environments.
The photographs here were of the Great Cormorant in the arid region of Central Australia, in a locale known as the Redbank Waterhole in the Owen Spring Reserve, Northern Territory.
In the following photograph, you can see the size difference between the adult Great Cormorant and the adult Little Black Cormorant.
