Cupressus macrocarpa 'Saligna aurea'

Apparently found by Woolich Nursery in the mid ’20’s this form of the Montery cypress is an interesting addition for the conifer collector. This is a large growing (20 ft or more) weeping yellow threadeaf conifer. It has done better in this area when planted in part sun/part shade or shade. Mites have occasionally been a problem. Like many cupressus, the root system sometimes needs some help anchoring the tree so staking may be necessary. The branches and foliage are aromatic. Very seldom found in gardens or nursersies but is certainly garden worthy.
