Alabama A&M Lands 27 on National Signing Day

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M University head coach Connell Maynor announced 27 student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to continue their athletic careers at AAMU, including 15 mid-year signees.
 
Maynor landed 15 offensive players, including five offensive lineman, five wide receivers, two quarterbacks, two tight ends and one running back. On the defensive side of the football, the Bulldogs signed five defensive lineman, four defensive backs and two linebackers. In addition, Maynor inked one special teamer, a long snapper.
 
Among the 27 players signed was the addition of Elias Cloy (Georgia Tech), Tyrell Lawrence (Minnesota), Duke Miller (Jackson State) and Aveon Smith (Miami (Ohio) as mid-year enrollees. Spring practice will begin March 1 and conclude with the annual Maroon and White Spring Game on Saturday, April 6 at Louis Crews Stadium.

Jamar Graham [Ellenwood, Ga. / Tucker HS]
Quarterback | 6-6 | 250
Graham comes to Alabama A&M from Tucker High School in Tucker, Georgia. During his senior season, he threw for over 1,500 yards, with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. On the ground, Graham carried the ball 46 times for 103 yards, with four scores. As a sophomore, earned All-county, Atlanta Journal Constitution First Team All-Region and was the Georgia High School Association State Championship Player of the Game. During the junior campaign, garnered First-Team All-Region and during senior season, tabbed Region Player of the Year on the gridiron and First-Team All-Region on the hardwood. He helped Tucker to three GHSA State Championships. Also lettered in basketball and baseball. A member of the honor roll and chose Alabama A&M over UAB.
 
Delvon Gulley [Saraland, Ala. / Saraland HS]
Defensive Back | 6-1 | 180
Gulley played at Saraland High School in Saraland, Alabama, where he helped the Spartans earn several championships. As a sophomore, he helped guide the team to the state semifinals after earning a region championship. One year later as a junior, Gulley earned a state championship. In his senior season, he tallied 33 total tackles, including 19 solo stops, averaging 2.5 tackles per game. In addition, registered one sack and nine passes defended. He helped the Spartans to a region title and a state runner-up appearance. Also lettered in track & field and basketball. Chose Alabama A&M over Middle Tennessee.


Danzelle Lambert [Fairfield, Ala. / Fairfield HS]
Wide Receiver | 6-3 | 186

Lambert comes to AAMU from Fairfield HS. During his senior season, he played in ten games and registered 23 catches for 393 yards and seven scores. 
 

Logan MacGregor [Gilbert, Ariz. / New Mexico State]
Long Snapper | 6-2 | 220
The Gilbert, Arizona native transfers from New Mexico State. As a red-shirt freshman, he played in 13 games for Aggies, helping to share their special teams en route to a Quick Lane Bowl win over Bowling Green. He recorded his first collegiate tackle in the Sun Bowl against UTEP. Also, he helped secure another tackle in the Aggies' comeback win over UMass.  He played high school football at Highland High School in Gilbert, Ariz. And served as the Hawks' primary long snapper.
 
Kolton Nero [Foley, Ala. / Foley HS]
Running Back | 5-11 | 215
Nero played at Foley High School in Foley, Ala. As a junior, he played in 11 games, rushing for 1,149 yards on 174 carries, averaging 104.5 yards per game, along with 16 scores. During senior season, tallied 240 touches for 2,043 yards, averaging 8.5 yards a carry and 204.3 yards per game, while scoring 25 touchdowns. He caught 10 passes out of the backfield for 50 yards and one score. Chose Alabama A&M over UAB, Auburn, Central Missouri State, Florida, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Southern Illinois, South Carolina and Tennessee State.
 
Donovan Price [Trussville, Ala. / Hewitt-Trussville HS]
Tight End | 6-3 | 223
Price played at Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, Alabama. As a junior, he earned First-Team All-7A Region 3, Second-Team All-South Metro and Second-Team All-State Honors. During his senior year, he recorded 337 receiving yards on 27 catches and three touchdowns. He garnered First-Team All-South Metro, First-Team All-Region and First-Team All-State accolades. He was selected to play in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game. A four-time member of the A&B Honor Roll, Leadership Club and National Honor Society.
 
TyQuez Richardson [Atlanta, Ga. / Mays HS]

Richardson is a dynamic offensive lineman coming from Atlanta, GA. He played at Mays High School and chose Alabama A&M over Colorado.
 
Olan Robinson [Covington, Ga. / Liberty]
Linebacker | 6-0| 220
Transfers to Alabama A&M after his freshman season at Liberty. In 2023, Robinson recorded one solo tackle at Buffalo. Played at Newton County High School, where he received Second-Team All-State honors as a junior and First-Team All-Region and All-State during senior season. A member of the A&B Honor Roll. 
 
Aaron Rogers [Mobile, Ala. / Mobile Christian]
Wide Receiver | 6-1 | 175
Rogers played at Mobile Christian in Mobile, Alabama. As a junior, he finished with 726 all-purpose yards and followed that with 851 all-purpose yards as a senior. In his senior year, Rogers registered 40 catches for 744 yards, along with six touchdowns. Helped Mobile Christian to a 2023 3A State Championship. Also lettered in track & field where he finished third in the state in the 110m hurdles in 2022 and was a state champion in 2022 in the 4x100m relay. A member of the National Honor Society.
 
Sammy Washington [Huntsville, N.C. / Butler HS
Defensive Back | 6-2 | 175
Washington played one season at Rocky River High School and the next three at Butler High School. While at Butler, he helped the Bulldogs win a conference championship and won multiple 7-on-7 tournaments with the Carolina Stars. As a senior, he tallied 53 total tackles, including 26 solo stops, averaging 3.8 tackles per game. In addition, registered two interceptions. He was selected to the all-conference team and received a defensive player of the year nomination. Also lettered in track & field. He chose Alabama A&M over North Carolina Central. 
 
DeQuadrion Welch [Macon, Miss. / Noxubee County HS
Wide Receiver | 5-10 | 165
Welch is a three-star wide-out according to 24/7Sports and played at Noxubee County High School. During his freshman season, he helped the Tigers to a state championship runner-up. As a sophomore, he finished with 17 catches for 257 yards, with two touchdowns as he earned SUPER 22 District Best Receiver Award. During the junior campaign, he tallied 35 catches for 586 yards, with five touchdowns and received the SUPER 22 District Offensive Playmaker Award as the Tigers finished second in the state. As a senior, Welch registered 81 catches for more than 1,500 yards, with 22 touchdowns. He earned First-Team All-State, SUPER 22 All-District. In addition, he was selected to play on the BB North-South All-Star Team, MS-AL All-Star Team and helped the Tigers to a state runner-up appearance. Also lettered in track and baseball, where he was a three-time Best Sprinter and earned most valuable player on the diamond. A three-time Superintendent Award recipient, two-time Principal Award winner and a member of the National Honor Society. He chose Alabama A&M over Mississippi Valley State. 
 
Khristian Zachary [Carrollton, Ga. / Western Kentucky]
Defensive Tackle| 6-2 | 290
Zachary comes to Alabama A&M, after transferring from Western Kentucky. A three-star prospect according 24/7 Sports. Also played at Liberty University. Chose Alabama A&M over Appalachian State and Southern.

Keyonte Arrington [Norfolk, Va. / Lake Taylor HS]
Offensive Line | 6-7 | 365 
Arrington is perhaps a big steal for Alabama A&M and will make an immediate impact on the offensive line. He comes to AAMU from Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, Va., and is a two-star athlete. Helped guide Lake Taylor High School to an 11-2 overall record and 6-1 mark in the region during junior season. Transferred to Maury High School during senior season and guided team to a perfect 15-0 (7-0 region) record and a No. 2 ranking in the State of Virginia. He chose Alabama A&M over Appalachian State, Arkansas, Charlotte, East Carolina, Elon, James Madison, Liberty, Marshall, Maryland, Missouri, Old Dominion, Temple, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
 
Elias Cloy [Alpharetta, Ga. / Georgia Tech]
Offensive Line | 6-3 | 278 
Cloy was a three-star prospect by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN as an offensive lineman. He ranked No. 80 as an offensive guard by ESPN. Cloy attended St. Francis High School in Alpharetta for two years before transferring to Alpharetta H.S. as a junior. He was an All-state performer and earned multiple honors, including a four-time all-region selection, first-team as a junior and senior at Alpharetta and lettered all four years of his prep career.
 
Evan Graham [St. Petersburg, Fla. / Georgia State]
Linebacker | 6-1 | 225
Graham transfers to Alabama A&M from Georgia State and signed with the program during the 2020-21 class. He played in one game during the 2022 season and did not see action last season. Graham had a standout career at Boca Ciega High School, where he totaled 205 tackles, eight sacks, five interceptions and five forced fumbles for his career. He was named to the All-Pinellas County team by the Tampa Bay Times as a junior, when he collected 90 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, five passes defended, three sacks and one interception.
 
Ravon Johnson [Loganville, Ga. / San Jose CC]
Linebacker | 6-4 | 235
Johnson comes to Alabama A&M from San Jose Community College. He played his prep ball at Meadowcreek and Grayson High Schools in Georgia. Last season at San Jose, Johnson recorded 14 total tackles, including eight solo stops and three sacks.
 
Tyrell Lawrence [Milton, Ontario, Canada / Minnesota]
Offensive Lineman | 6-7 | 355
Lawrence transfers to Alabama A&M from Big Ten member Minnesota under head coach PJ Fleck. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2021 and 2022. He played at Clearwater Academy International in Clearwater, Fla., during his prep career where he recorded 16 tackles and two sacks in six games. In 2018, Lawrence was named the Canada Football Chat All-Canadian Offence First Team honor and was a consensus three-star recruit, ranking as the No. 85 guard by 247Sports.
 
Joel Logan [Helena, Ala. / Southeast Missouri]
Defensive Lineman | 6-3 | 220
Logan transfers in to AAMU from Southeast Missouri. While at SEMO, Logan was redshirted and last played as a senior at Helena High School in 2021. While at Helena, Logan garnered Second-Team All-Shelby County Accolades and played in the North-South All-Star Classic. 
 
Duke Miller [Raleigh, Miss. / Jackson State]
Wide Receiver | 6-0  | 184 
Miller makes the transition from one SWAC East Division School to another after spending last season at Jackson State. For the Tigers, he played in nine games, registering 27 catches for 271 yards. Miller came to JSU from New Mexico and from East Mississippi Community College. While at EMCC, Miller was named Second Team All-MACCC at wide receiver and ranked second in the junior college ranks in receptions with 57. He finished his junior college career with 72 catches for 902 yards and 10 touchdowns.
 
Dion Nelson Jr. [York, Ala. / UT-Martin]
Tight End | 6-5  | 230
Nelson, who also goes by DJ, played in 10 games last season for the Skyhawks, registered 12 catches for 135 yards, along with four touchdowns, which was second on the team. In 2022, Nelson was named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team, Freshman All-American honors from HERO Sports and Phil Steele (Second Team). He played in all 11 games, while starting nine in helping the Skyhawks to the OVC Championship. Nelson tallied 21 receptions for 267 yards and six touchdowns, while leading all OVC tight ends in both receiving yards and touchdowns.
 
Myles Parker [Allen, Texas / Valpo]
Wide Receiver | 5-6 | 160
Parker transfers to Alabama A&M from Valpo. He did not see action in the Fall of 2021. Parker played at John Paul High School in Allen, Texas, where he was a three-year varsity letter winner. He earned Second Team All-State and First Team All-District. He tallied 121 receiving yards and three touchdowns against Nolan Catholic during the 2019-2020 season. Also lettered in basketball.
 
Peyton Scott [Myrtle Beach, S.C. / Myrtle Beach Collegiate Academy]
Defensive Lineman / Outside Linebacker | 6-4 | 215 
Scott is a defensive end / outside linebacker who comes to Alabama A&M from Myrtle Beach Collegiate Academy. A two-year lettermen who amassed 67 total tackles, including 22 solo stops during his senior season. In addition he added six sacks and 17 quarterback hurries, along with recording one interception and one fumble recovery. Scott chose Alabama A&M over offers from North Carolina Central, Old Dominion, Kent State and Charlotte. 
 
Aveon Smith [Lexington, S.C. / Miami (Ohio)]
Quarterback | 6-1 | 200 
Smith had a glorious career at Miami (Ohio) and during his senior season, he went 48 of 96 passing for 638 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. On the ground, Smith carried the ball 75 times for 280 yards, with one score. As a junior in 2022, Smith was an All-MAC Academic selection and 5-4 as a starter for the RedHawks. He finished with 1,299 yards passing and 11 touchdowns, while adding 553 yards and six scores on the ground. In addition, he became the first player in program history to lead the team in rushing and passing in the same season.
 
Elijah Stevens [Daphne, Ala. / Daphne HS]
Offensive Lineman | 6-5 | 328
Stevens  is a dynamic offensive lineman who will remain in the state of Alabama after signing with the Bulldogs. He played at Daphne High School and will fight for a starting spot to help bolster the offensive line.
 
Bernard Stewart [Jacksonville, Fla. / Trinity Christian Academy]
Defensive Back | 6-0 | 160 
Stewart, who also goes by Tre, comes to Alabama A&M from Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. In his prep career, Stewart registered 119 total tackles, including 50 solo stops, with two interceptions. He is a two-time state champion.
 
Jasiah Ward [Alabaster, Ala. / Thompson HS]
Defensive Back | 6-0 | 180 
Ward comes to Alabama A&M from Thompson High School. As a senior, tallied 40 total tackles, including 28 solo stops, averaging 2.9 tackles per game. In addition, registered one sack and six passes defended. Chose Alabama A&M over Harding. 
 
Brandon White [Madison, Ala. / Bob Jones HS]
Defensive Lineman | 6-4 | 230 
White signed on Wednesday and is a talented defensive end from Bob Jones High School. He registered 50 total tackles as a senior, including 28 solo stops and one sack. In his prep career, White played in 20 varsity games where he registered 90 total tackles, including 48 solo stops and three sacks.
