Cultivar Origin"Originated as a color sport found on a specimen of Pinus parviflora 'Glauca' in the early 1990s at Hans Hachmann Nursery, Barmstedt Germany. The English translation of 'Blauer Engel' is "Blue Angel" which is a trade designation that Jeddeloh Farms Nursery of Gresham, Oregon patented in 2003". (#202)
Author's NotesI have seen this plant many times and the color of the foliage lives up to the description of the plant. But the color of the foliage can vary from bluish to very glaucous. Probably because of the site and the time of the year.
