Common Name: Blue Dwarf Japanese Stone Pine
A dense, broad-spreading habit that grows at about 18 inches tall by 30 inches wide a year and eventually reach 4 ft tall by 10 ft wide in 10 years. Long blue-green needles in clusters of five are slightly twisted and contrast stunningly with carmine-red cones. Young seed cones are purple violet that turn reddish brown as it mature. Best grown in full sun exposure in moderate moist, well-drained soil. Pinus pumila blue dwarf is suitable for specimen, rock garden, bonsai and accent.
