A Natural History Guide to the High Desert in Oregon, California, and Nevada, Including Most of the Great Basin

My definition of the “High Desert” may not be the same of everyone else’s, but I am very familiar with the geography outlined below. It includes much of the Great Basin as well. Most geographers would agree that there is much overlap between the two definitions. I have camped, hiked, backpacked, driven extensively throughout the area. I have also contributed to professional and academic endeavors in the area. Occasionally I will extend slightly beyond the boundary to satisfy my own passion. And I will capitalize “High Desert” because….I want to.

  1. Bob, I’m impressed with your new website! You have learned how to create a website so quickly, and the content and pictures of your various adventures…are great too.

I’ll be back often, you can count on that!

I enjoy your website and I am learning a lot about our area. I’m not a hiker, but I really enjoy your information.
